Where is the old helpdesk?
We had to unexpectedly shut down the old helpdesk software due to a very bad security flaw that was discovered in the PERL software system it used. Don't worry, no customer data was compromised. We were not hacked. We took down the old software immediately after discovering the problem, to avoid any possible security breach.
Unfortunately, the old helpdesk software was very old and fixing the security problem with PERL would require a complete change to the entire software. We decided the fastest way forward is to use a completely different system (which uses PHP).
